I got a chance tonight to see the U23D movie and it was fantastic. It most certainly is the next best thing to actually being at the live concert. The main difference I noticed was that my ears weren’t ringing afterwards.
It is the first live-action film to be shot, edited, and shown entirely in 3D. The visual experience will not disappoint, even if you are not a big fan of U2. But if you are a fan, then this is a must see!
Brad, is this a 3d technology that still needs those glasses while watching?
John, yes you still have to wear those big glasses, but they are IMAX glasses that are like big sunglasses, no more of the red and blue lenses.
Since you so obviously saw it by yourself, tell me, how was it?

You have to forgive your dad since he did not know what he was doing when he went without you. I am praying you won’t be too scarred for life and have to see a 1000 psychoanalysts and spend millions to recover from this flagrant neglect and disregard for your feelings. Some fathers…!

Georges, well actually I did take Joshua with me. (I think he was being critical of my lack of mentioning that he was at the show with me.) He really enjoyed it, not as much as I did but we had a great time. His following of U2 doesn’t go back quite as far as his dad.
By the way, Joshua said that no humor is too weird for him??
I am going. The ears ringing afterward have always been a sweet discomfort.
I thought it was cool to see the band up close. It didn’t feel as 3D as I thought it would but it was cool nonetheless.
Brad – I’m seriously thinking of taking my six year old to see this – he loves rock and roll. Am I crazy?
Jon, I am sure he would love it and the 3D would most certainly keep his attention.
