Rick, do I have a bias? Yes, I think I do . . . it is that you do not find a CEO style of leadership in 1/2 Timothy, Titus or 1 Peter. Do we need leaders and leadership in the church, absolutely! But I believe the vast majority we see in the church in the west is drawn more from the business world than from the Bible.

Your thoughts sound profound but also seem indicative of some major bias on your part. What is your point exactly? That the church should not have leadership? 1&2 Timothy, Titus and 1 Peter 5 (for starters) clearly reveal that God intended for the church to have leaders. Furthermore we are commanded, by God via the apostle, to respect and submit to them (Heb 13:17).
